CRNA Program Summary
Are you concerned that the Rosalind Franklin University Nurse Anesthesia Program won’t give you the specific experiences or training you need to be a successful CRNA? Learn what standards CRNA Programs must meet in order to be accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia (COA).
This CRNA program (as well as all others that are accredited by the COA) prepares you to take the CCNA certification exam at the conclusion of the program, allowing you to become a CRNA.
Academic Experience
You’ll spend your first year in the classroom and engrossed in textbooks. You’ll be building a solid foundation of knowledge on which you’ll build your nurse anesthesia practice.
Clinical Experience
In the spring of your second year, you’ll begin your work in the hospital. You’ll be in the clinical area five days a week (no more than 40 hours a week). You’ll be supervised by CRNA’s and anesthesiologists as you practice what you learned in class. This portion will make up 62 of your credit hours.
During this time, you’ll get to return to campus one day a month to review clinical experiences, critique journal articles, present keywords, review for the boards, and get feedback on your master’s project.
