CRNA Program Requirements
BSN Or a baccalaureate degree in a related field of study.
RN: Current Florida RN license.
Critical Care: One year RN experience in critical care. You need to have experience caring for the critically ill who have required vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation and/or invasive monitoring.
Acceptable critical care experience includes:
Medical ICU
Surgical ICU
Pediatric ICU
Other ICU
GPA: A minimum GPA of 3.0 is recommended
Minimum GRE scores: GRE scores of 1000 or better are most competitive
TOELF: If English is not your native language, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Can I work as an RN while I’m in the program? Their program is intensive and requires many hours of study and preparation. Employment is strongly discouraged.
How many vacation days am I given? You’ll follow the University of Miami Florida calendar for vacation and holidays for the first two semesters. After that, you’ll be given two weeks to be used for vacation or sick time. You’ll be able to request a maximum of 10 clinical days off for vacation, but never more than 5 days at a time, and never in the months of July.
