What were they thinking? We are arriving at a point in time where the health care demands of America’s population are going to require a reliance on something other than the traditional model. Nurse’s could play a pivotal role in this transformation. As an RN, the nurse practitioners that I have worked with have been top notch. The CRNAs that I work with every day are excellent practitioners of their art.
Experience plays a big part in the quality of the care that any of us provides. Do they really think that more school means better care? Was this pushed through by the AMA? This change in requirements is certainly going to keep the status quo.
Shame on whomever came up with this harebrained idea.
