HI, I am preparing myself to apply to CRNA program next year. Due to a personal tragedy my undergraduate GPA(non nursing) was less than stellar(2.9). My nursing GPA is (3.2). My science courses GPA is not high as well. In Micro: C Chemistry I B, Chemistry II : D AP I A and AP II C.
Last semester I took Organic Chemistry and made a B. I thought that it would better demonstrate where I am now if I could take some graduate level courses, instead of just simply retaking all my science classes.
Maybe taking Advanced Pathophysiology and Advanced Pharmacology would prove my abilitiy to be successful in a graduate program.
However, I am having an extremely hard time finding a school in which to take these courses. They all require that I formally enroll in a master’s nursing degree plan such as nurse practioner, before I may enroll in the master’s class. However, I do not plan to complete the degree plan as it is my dream to become a CRNA.
Is that the way it is done? Will it shed a negative light on my application if I enroll in a nurse practitioner degree plan in order to take a master’s level class and then leave the school? Please help?
