Change is needed with current health care system. The transformation from MN to DNP is a good idea. The patients are not stupid and just telling them you are a Doctor of Nurse practitioner as MD call themselves a Doctor of Medicine. It is simple as that. Efficiency is not only determined by length of year stay in school however it determined performance of our work in practical setting. CRNA 4 years BSN + 2 or more years experience + highest GPA in Nursing School + 3 to 4 years (DNP) desire to call them selves Doctor proudly with any doubt in their mind as physicians call themselves Doctor. I also have great respect to physician for long years sacrifices they make just like CRNA for quality health care.
