Unfortunate requirement

by Paul

I do not feel that it is necessary or worthwhile to be required to have a doctorate for crna's. It will cost more, take more time but not increase your pay or change the way you practice. The requirement may be the straw that broke the camels back for me. On the financial side it may just not be possible or worth the effort.

CRNA is a long hard road with great reward. If you are not willing to put in the time and effort its not for you. DNP or not you need to give up your life as you know it to complete the program of study. CRNAs are the future of anesthesia and we need dedicated, determined practitioners.

What will the 3rd year be for? More clinical experience or writing papers about the field?
