Class Size 24-26 students are admitted each year. Six to eight individuals will be placed on a wait list.
The Rush University College of Nursing MSN program is an academically front-loaded program with gradually increasing clinical experience during the first 12 months. Following successful completion of the didactic sequence, you’ll begin a 15 month clinical residency.
During this residency, you’ll learn to provide anesthesia for every type of surgical patient including thoracic, cardiovascular, neurological, transplant, trauma, obstetrics and others. The time commitment throughout the program is extensive.
The Post-Certificate MSN is an innovative distance learning program designed for the CRNA who wants to complete a master's degree.
BSN Completion of a Bachelor's degree (does not have to be a BSN)
RN: RN license (for the application, an Illinois license is not required)
Critical Care: Have a minimum of one year of recent, full time experience as an RN in an adult ICU at the time of the application deadline (two years of such experience is strongly preferred). It is most competitive to be currently working in the ICU at the time of application.
Acceptable critical care experience includes any experience in an ICU or Cardiac Care Unit. They have no preference of one type of ICU over another (medical vs. surgical vs. neuro vs. burn/trauma vs. CV):

GRE: Completion of the GRE. To be competitive, your GRE scores should be at least Verbal 450, Quantitative 450 and Analytic Writing 3.5, or the sum of Verbal plus Quantitative should be 900 or more.
TOELF: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for students who are non-native speakers of English or who have not completed a minimum of three (3) years of higher education and received their baccalaureate degree in the United States.

CRNA Educational Requirements
Complete a graduate level statistics course (i.e., equivalent to Rush NUR 510, Biostatistics) or have an acceptable plan for completing statistics.
Accredited CRNA Programs are reviewed regularly. Rush University College of Nursing’s CRNA Program was last reviewed 05/2005. It was given the maximum of 10 years accreditation and will be reviewed again 05/2015. This shows that the program is very stable.
